Why Choose Us?

Pets are family. And we wouldn’t want it any other way.  We are honored to be entrusted with the care of your fur babies, and we care for them in your absence just like we do our own pets!

Free to Roam

We have a free-roam environment, where dogs are kenneled only during feedings to avoid any food-related aggression. While we do have kennels available if your pup needs some alone time or if you prefer they are kenneld at night, all dogs in our care are free to roam throughout the play areas and pick their favorite spot to snooze. We even have real furniture (beds, chairs, etc.) to provide an environment as close to home as possible. Our goal is to make A Dog’s World your pet’s favorite retreat when they can’t be with you.

We work hard to ensure that there is an appropriate balance of play time and structure.  We take seriously our responsibility to provide an environment that promotes the happiness, health, wellness, and general welfare of all dogs in our care.  By allowing our dogs to roam in a safe, secure, and supervised environment, we provide necessary socialization, education, and exercise making them better canine citizens for us all.

Impeccable Professionals

This is our business. This is what we DO.  We take great pride in providing individualized care for each and every pet that we are entrusted with.  We are officially licensed by the State of Colorado and under the Pet Animal Care Facilities Act (PACFA) program.  Our facility, built in 2020, is properly zoned for the care and boarding of domestic animals.

Additionally, our owner, Nancy Murphy, earned her Certified Professional Pet Sitter (CPPS) certification in 2014 and is the driving force behind our ability to meet and exceed professional standards at each and every turn. And our commitment to maintaining the highest rating with the Better Business Bureau further demonstrates our dedication to providing the absolute best care for our pets – and their parents!

Licensed. Bonded. Insured.

You can rest assured that if we are caring for your pet at your home or in our facility, we’ve got you covered!  Part of  being a business professional is protecting your interests and those of your clients if something goes awry.  All of our staff, including volunteers and independent contractors, are covered by our policies.

In addition, we want to ensure we only hire the best.  We run complete background checks for every applicant before they are hired.  We want to ensure that if we’re sending them into your home, we’d welcome them into ours. Click here to see why this matters!

Not all heroes wear capes!

We just couldn’t figure out how to enforce capes in the dress code! Seriously, all management and key staff working at our facility are certified in pet first aid and CPR.  In the event of an emergency, your pets couldn’t be in better hands.

Poop Happens!

Yep, it sure does!  We adhere to strict cleaning and disinfectant protocols – using only products that are safe for dogs, humans, and the environment.   All sanitizers used are PACFA approved and registered with the EPA.  We proudly use the following brands:

  • Melaleuca, The Wellness Company – dedicated to safe, effective, and eco-friendly products for over 30 years
  • Better Life – Made in the USA biodegradable, plant-based products provide clean without compromise
  • Seventh Generation – plant-based products packaged with recycled materials meant to be recycled or degraded
  • Earth Rated – supply compostable poop bags and those with an EPI additive which allows the bags to break down, is non-toxic, and produces no harmful residue

In addition to the above products, we’ve taken the extra step in dealing with outdoor pet waste.  Instead of bagging the waste and sending it off to the landfill where it can leach into the ground and surface water, we have installed a Powerloo. This in-ground pet waste disposal hooks directly to the existing sewer system and allows us to flush the waste in a sanitary, eco-friendly manner.

Last but not least, we have installed outdoor lighting in compliance with Douglas County guidelines and recognized by the International Dark-Sky Association in order to reduce our impact on the environment.  Using  this specialized lighting, we reduce light pollution, energy consumption, and carbon emissions. We love our community and the wildlife that surround us – and we’re doing all we can to protect the integrity and beauty of our neighborhood.  We live here too!
