Basic Obedience
What is it?
In order for your pup to put his best paw forward, he needs to know what you expect from him. This provides him confidence in navigating his world, both at home and in public. Whether you have a new dog or a dog who could use a brush-up on manners, a basic dog obedience class is a great way to build a foundation of skills that will benefit both you and your dog in the long run. Training provides an opportunity for you to learn how to communicate effectively with your dog, strengthens the bond, and allows your pup to exercise both mind and body.
Basic obedience classes are not meant to resolve larger behavioral issues. If you have behavioral concerns aside from basic obedience and manners, you may need a private consultation and additional training.

What to expect
During the Basic Obedience classes, you can expect to be introduced to the most common (and most needed) commands, such as sit, stay, come, heel, and down. While having your pup recognize and obey these commands can definitely make your life as a pet parent easier, it can also make a life-saving difference in a dangerous situation.
In addition to the skills and manners your dog gains, you will also learn to read your dog and anticipate it’s next move. This bond and understanding will allow both of you to handle any situation with confidence and ability.
There is a required time commitment outside of class to ensure a successful training program. Please be advised that you need to work with your dog for brief training periods throughout the week – totaling at least 30 minutes per day – in order to have a successful training experience.
